Improving Land Subsurface Imaging using Seismic Interferometry
نویسندگان
چکیده
Seismic reflection can provide precise estimates of subsurface structures. To obtain more information on subsurfaces using the same amount data, we first compared reverse time migration (RTM) images obtained from surface seismic profile (SSP), vertical (VSP), and single well (SWP) data for models that included faults with various dips. When were sufficient, SSP, SWP, VSP surveys suitable identifying horizontal structures, structures steep slopes, near wells, respectively. An appropriate interferometry method was selected after considering advantages disadvantages each survey when either SSP or both, an inaccurate velocity model RTM, noise added to data. The estimated RTM observed be improved applied.

Subsurface Imaging with Reverse Vertical Seismic Profiles
A novel imaging process, referred to as vector image isochron (VII) migration, is specifically designed to reduce artifacts caused by arrays with limited apertures. By examining the assumptions behind generalized Radon transform (GRT) migration, a new approach is found which identifies and suppresses array artifacts, based on the array geometry and the migration earth model. The new method work...
متن کاملHigh-resolution lithospheric imaging with seismic interferometry
In recent years, there has been an increase in the deployment of relatively dense arrays of seismic stations. The availability of spatially densely sampled global and regional seismic data has stimulated the adoption of industry-style imaging algorithms applied to convertedand scattered-wave energy from distant earthquakes, leading to relatively high-resolution images of the lower crust and upp...
متن کاملImpact of Irregularities of 3D Seismic Geometry on Subsurface Imaging
3D seismic data acquisition brought a sea change in subsurface imaging. The bridge between geology and seismic is P/S wave velocity of different subsurfaces/lithology. The technique has acquired prime importance due to its inherent strength of determining seismic velocity/amplitudes of the different medium. Lithological variations estimations is possible due to proper Vp/Vs ratio or either velo...
متن کاملNonlinear extended wave-equation imaging by image-domain seismic interferometry
Wave-equation, finite-frequency imaging and inversion still faces considerable challenges in addressing the inversion of highly complex velocity models as well as in dealing with nonlinear imaging (e.g., migration of multiples, amplitudepreserving migration). Extended images (EI’s), as we present here, are particularly important for designing image-domain objective functions aimed at addressing...
متن کاملImproving Dems Using Sar Interferometry
Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) processing relies on phase unwrapping to convert interferometric phase to topographic height. Phase unwrapping is a di cult non-linear process that is still the subject of on-going research. Rather than processing the complete phase image to extract a digital elevation model (DEM), we use existing coarse DEMs as an integral part of the InSAR algo...
